Views about other teams:
P.N.G. – Despite having some talented players in the side, they just don’t seem to be constructing their innings with the bat properly as seen in the CWC Challenge League, which seems to already have drawn curtains after 8/8 losses. They are also failing to use Norman Vanua properly who comes way down the order. They might qualify for the play-offs but finish 7th/8th.
BERMUDA – They are heavily reliant on Delray Rawlins & Kamau Leverock. Although there are others who can do well, but they lack consistency.
HONG KONG – With Babar Hayat having drawn curtains on his career with Hong Kong, they have suffered a hefty blow. This aggravates with Ehsan Nawaz and Tanveer Ahmed having withdrawn their names too. With such key names gone, the pillar looks brittle.
JERSEY – A pretty good team but they will be challenged massively in conditions which will aid spin as the tournament progresses and the batting will suffer seeing Jersey register scores close to 100 against good oppositions.
KENYA – Massively reliant on the 38-years old Collins Obuya. They have got some very good players in Ngoche, Rakep Patel, etc., but it will be a test of mental strength, character & consistency for them.
NIGERIA – Coming into the qualifiers at the expense of Zimbabwe, Nigeria could be found out because of lack of exposure and experience.
OMAN – Contenders in the eyes of many, but it will be tough for them to cross the play-offs, which means they will finish at 7 or 8 unless they can really combine together to surprise us all. Players like Jatinder Singh, Khawar Ali and Bilal Khan will have to pull their socks up.
SINGAPORE – Timothy David, the Perth Scorchers’ man is the player to watch out for. I believe that he will find it tough against the oppositions and the conditions on offer. However, he forms an integral part of the squad and holds the key to Singapore’s success.
